Chris Paul shed light on his NBA future following rumors of a trade to the Los Angeles Lakers
Chris Paul’s quest for his first-ever NBA ring ended in disappointment as the Phoenix Suns succumbed to a ‘Giannis Antetokounmpo’ inspired Milwaukee Bucks in the 2021 NBA Finals.
Despite taking a 2-0 lead in the finals, the Suns failed to capitalize on the same, as they went down 4-2, after the Bucks rallied to win the next four games.
Following the loss in the NBA finals, rumors of Paul being traded to the Los Angeles Lakers arose, where he would possibly join his buddy, LeBron James.
The Lakers have been in search of a playmaker for quite a while to ease the load on big names James and Anthony Davis, and hence thought that CP3 would best suit the role.
But, given their financial situation, they very well know it would be tough to see a Chris Paul trade to Lakers happening.
However, Paul almost put an end to all these rumors with his tweet, earlier yesterday. The Suns’ point guard hinted that he would be staying with the Suns for another year.
His tweet read:
“Thank you to Phoenix and all the fans on a great season!! Back to work. #CantGiveUpNow”
This was CP3’s first season with the Phoenix. He featured in a total of 70 games and averaged 16.4 points per game with almost 9 assists per game. He averaged much higher in the playoffs at 19.2 points per game.
