Chris Paul and LeBron James are known to be Carmelo Anthony’s two closest friends. These three players alongside Dwayne Wade are seen on holidays together.
With Carmelo Anthony’s league history, his friend Chris Paul cannot digest the way he is treated by the NBA franchises. Carmelo is the 9th player in NBA history to reach 28,000 points. After his disappointing 2021-22 season with the Los Angeles Lakers, Carmelo found himself in a dilemma. No franchise wished to pick the 37-year-old guard to be the home from his retirement.
Chris Paul added after Suns defeat against Knicks on 2nd January, “Melo is one of the best to ever to play the game. I’m obviously biased and hope he’s in the league soon.”
“Because somebody of that caliber, with that ability, with the heart that he has, and the stuff he’s done for the game. He should be able to walk off the court when he’s ready,” said CP3.

Carmelo Anthony was grabbed by ESPN, mid-December, and questioned about his future in the NBA. Melo said he is at peace with the decision taken by franchises. He was prioritizing his son’s game against a team led by LeBron James’s sons, Bronny and Bryce James.
Carmelo Anthony said, “I want to be. You know, I love the game, but I realize that there are a lot of things not in my control, So I just sit back and let it play out and whatever it’s going to be it’s going to be and I accept that, I’m at peace with that.”
His friend Chris Paul knows what Carmelo really wants, which is retiring with respect. Anthony added, “I get to watch my son play, you know, train him, be around him, come to his games, so these are the things for a long time that I’ve never had a chance to do, so now I can be that father and that man that I need to be.”
