“The only proven team” – CJ McCollum picks Stephen Curry’s Warriors as the next NBA champions

CJ McCollum has picked Stephen Curry’s Golden State Warriors as his pick for the next NBA champions, owing to the fact that he feels they are the only proven team.

The Golden State Warriors have not had the best of preseasons. The defending champions’ morale and momentum this preseason were hampered by a major in-house scandal – the Draymond Green and Jordan Poole situation – and it has been reported that the morale in the Warriors’ locker room is not at its best at the moment because of understandable reasons.

However, regardless of the morale in the locker room, the Warriors are still a very strong outfit on the basketball court and it will still take some major ability to outclass them on the court. Though the consensus of the NBA community right now is that the Warriors are unlikely to do well this season, some people think the contrary – one of them being CJ McCollum.

The New Orleans Pelicans star, who recently signed a two-year extension with the Pelicans, took to his podcast known as The CJ McCollum Show to name his favourites going into the new season. Going into the new season, CJ McCollum said that the Warriors are at the top of the Western Conference – simply because the Warriors are the only proven team.

What did McCollum have to say about his favourites for the season?

The New Orleans Pelican star named his favourites for the upcoming season.

Speaking on the CJ McCollum show, the point guard said that the Warriors are at the top of the Western Conference. When asked to name his favourites for the Western Conference, McCollum said: “I think it’s Golden State and the rest of us. There’s a lot of teams that have talent, but they are the only proven team.”

McCollum has valid logic behind his statement. Even though there are of plenty of talented teams in the Western Conference – including his Pelicans team – the Golden State Warriors are truly proven, having won four titles in the last decade. Even with a fractured locker room, the Warriors will still be an incredibly tough team to beat ok their day.
