Kevin Durant stat appears before KD takes on the Warriors in front of the crowd
A stat addressing Kevin Durant’s absence from the Warriors since 2019 was recently revealed by ClutchPoints. After a 2018 session, Kevin Durant walked around an incomplete Chase Center and wondered what the future might hold for the Warriors at their new home.
“I can imagine a lot of points being scored here,” Durant told reporters, adding that his “imagination is running wild right now with possibilities.” But in the three seasons that Chase Center has been open, Durant, who joined the Brooklyn Nets the following year, has only tallied 20 points on Warriors territory, and that total isn’t likely to rise any time soon.
On Sunday, the Nets will make their yearly trip to San Francisco, but Durant won’t be joining for the third time in four seasons.
Where has Kevin Durant been for this much long?
Since the beginning of January, Durant has been unable to play due to a sprained ligament in his right knee. He won’t likely play again until the following month. After helping the Warriors win two titles, that means Bay Area fans will have to wait yet another season to watch Durant play while sporting a rival team’s uniform.
Durant had an Achilles injury and was out for the whole 2019–20 season. Since they were slated to play at Golden State the day after the NBA suspended play due to COVID, the Nets were unable to play in San Francisco that season.
Due to pandemic limitations, spectators were not permitted to attend and witness Durant’s performance at Chase Center on February 13, 2021. Durant missed the Nets’ game in San Francisco the following season because of a damaged ligament in his left knee.
