Dallas Mavericks shockingly waive off Kemba Walker despite 32-point heroics

In just a brief stint of 9 games, Mark Cuban’s Dallas Mavericks have just waived off Kemba Walker from their team, after their brutal 124-95 loss against Boston Celtics. In a side that desperately wanted to add offensive weapons for Luka Doncic, Walker has been removed from the squad in a shocking move.

The 32-year-old Kemba Walker was signed by Dallas Mavericks in November in an attempt to add experience to Doncic’s offensive lineup. While plenty of Mavericks marquee scorers have not found their grove and have not been able to be at full health, Kemba Walker was idolized to be the X-Factor in this team.

To bring in Walker, Mavs waived off Facundo Campazzo. Mark Cuban gave an explanation on this, stating that the former star gives the required flexibility to coach Jason Kidd and his strategies as the season progresses.

The former guard represented Charlotte Hornets and Boston Celtics in his previous stint, averaging 8.0 points, 1.8 rebounds, and 2.1 assists in the 9 games he played for the Dallas Mavericks. The 32-year-old even notched up a season-high 32 points in the team’s 100-99 loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Tim MacMahom wrote in his tweet, “Mavs are waiving Kemba Walker, whose salary would have become guaranteed Saturday. Two-way G McKinley Wright IV has earned minutes and Mavs also want to leave path for rookie Jaden Hardy to get playing time. Walker had 32-point game for Mavs and was ultimate pro.”
