Philadelphia 76ers’ Danny Green shot blanks in game-stats against Orlando Magic
Danny Green is a 3-time NBA Champion, with 3 different teams, playing a very vital role in teams’ production on-court. He is an efficient defender and also an effective 3-point shooter. But some players do have rough nights netting 0 points in an entire game.
Philadelphia 76ers’ game against Orlando Magic was one such game for Danny, where he failed to fill in any game-stat in 24 minutes game time. Green’s stats for the night were 0 points, 0 assists, 0 rebounds, 0 blocks, and 0 steals. He started for the 76ers’ and attempted just two 3-point shots in 23.49 minutes game time.
This amazing clean slate state sets the record for 2nd highest minutes by a player with 0/0/0/0/0/0. Tony Snell of Milwaukee Bucks holds the record for most minutes (28) with similar stats in the game against Portland Trail Blazers on 24th February 2017.
Very recently Los Angeles Lakers‘ Avery Bradley also had clean stats against Phoenix Suns on 22nd October 2021. Bradley played 21 minutes in the game.
This might be a rare occurrence for Green, but some of the players have multiple such games with 0 points, 0 assists, and 0 rebounds. Most of these players are benchwarmers and played very few minutes into the game. Following are the top 10 players with a clean slate statistics list:
Player Name | Number of games | Average minutes played per game |
Jud Buechler | 101 | 2.9 |
Steve Novak | 98 | 2.1 |
James Jones | 80 | 3.1 |
Brian Scalabrine | 72 | 2.8 |
Mario West | 71 | 1.0 |
Greg Dreiling | 69 | 2.7 |
Ryan Bowen | 67 | 2.4 |
Greg Foster | 66 | 3.7 |
Steve Kerr | 66 | 3.9 |
Rasual Butler | 64 | 3.4 |
It is also very surprising to see that 5-time NBA Champion Derek Fisher holds the record for most minutes (34) with 0/0/0 statistics against Houston Rockets on 4th Nov 2009. Fisher had 2 steals in the game, which prevented him from completely clean slate stats.
Miami Heats’ Joel Anthony also nearly missed clean slate stats with 1 turn-over in his 29 minutes game-time.
