San Antonio Spurs star point guard Dejounte Murray gave an update about his health via his Twitter account.

A significant period of games is upon us, and the San Antonio Spurs have shocked everyone as they are currently in the play-in tournament spots where they have taken the place of the Los Angeles Lakers. The Spurs, however, have been dealt with a massive blow as their star point guard Dejounte Murray is suffering from an illness that has ruled him out of multiple games so far, and there is no timetable set for his return to action.

Dejounte Murray was an all-star this season and has been the best player on this Spurs team throughout the season. They will heavily miss him as the team prepares to face a demanding schedule ahead to make it to the play-in tournament.

If Murray is not available to play in the remaining games, then Spurs can lose all 4 of their remaining games. It could knock them out of contention for the play-in tournament as the Lakers are right beneath them.

Dejounte Murray, via his Twitter, said, “I Randomly Got Sick And It Sucks It Happen At This Crucial Time While Me And The Team Are Rolling. I Lost 7-8 Pounds And Been Feeling Awful And Doing Everything To Get Healthy First Then Working Out To Get Ready To Help The Team Get In This Play In And Fight For The Playoffs.”

This signifies that it is a serious illness, and there is a possibility that Murray might not return to action any time soon, which will make it hard for the Spurs to make it to the play-in tournament.

If the Lakers win their remaining games, they can qualify for the play-in tournament at the expense of Murray and the Spurs, which would be an ultimate heartbreak for this young team.
