Off game for DeMar DeRozan but Zach LaVine keeps Bulls’ winning streak alive

Zach LaVine scored game-high 27 points as the Bulls win 9 consecutive games now

Chicago Bulls are on top of the Eastern Conference. Their trades this season were questioned by many but every new addition has proved very effective for the team.

DeMar DeRozan is one such new addition, who had fairly good seasons with the Spurs and has also been putting up huge numbers for the Bulls since signing with them. DeRozan tops the team in scoring with 26.9 points per game while providing a handful of assists and grabbing 5 rebounds every game.

His consistent and “buzzer-beating game-winners” made him an instant fan favorite. He is now top voted Eastern conference back-court player for NBA All-star 2022 game. But even players like DeRozan can have a rough night and today’s game against the Wizards was such an “underperforming” (by his standards) game for him.

Otherwise very efficient DeRozan had a tough shooting game against Washington Wizards, scoring just 15 points while shooting 31.3% from the field. But he made up with 8 assists and 5 rebounds as other teammates were firing on all cylinders.

Cooled off DeMar DeRozan still red hot for Chicago Bulls

The Bulls have a strong lineup, they nearly have at least 2 potent players for every position on the court. This just allowed them to dominate the game even if one or two players couldn’t perform on a given night.

DeRozan’s off night couldn’t stop the Bulls surge, as they won their 9th straight game and handed 300th career win for their coach Donovan. Zach LaVine put on a show in the offense scoring 27 points for the team while Nikola Vucevic had a huge double-double with 4 steals.

Vucevic scored 16 points and grabbed 14 rebounds, while Lonzo Ball added 18 points in 130-122 victory for the Bulls. Bradley Beal provided some resistance with his 26 points and 6 assists performance in the game. But the Chicago team proved too hot to handle right now.

The Bulls now won league-high 9 consecutive games and will look for the 10th win against the Mavs on Sunday.
