Dennis Schroder has made a big statement as he rejoins the Los Angeles Lakers only a year after departing the franchise, and has underlined his goals for the upcoming season with the Lakers.
Dennis Schröder has returned to the Los Angeles Lakers only a year after departing them.
The German professional basketball player who has played nearly a decade in the NBA for franchises such as the Atlanta Hawks, the Oklahoma City Thunder, the Boston Celtics and the Houston Rockets is now back with the Los Angeles Lakers – a team he has already spent a season with.
It would not be an exaggeration to say that Schröder’s first spell with the Lakers was a complete disappointment.
Schröder spent the 2020/21 season with the Lakers but could never really be a successful part of the legendary franchise, and was often met with criticism from fans as well as Lakers legend Magic Johnson – who ripped into Schröder for his attitude as well as mentality.
Naturally, Schröder sought greener pastures elsewhere – but after splitting the 2021/22 season with the Boston Celtics and the Houston Rockets, Schröder finds himself back at the Lakers after signing a one-year deal that would see him earn $2.4 million until the end of the season.
Schröder sounded really excited to mark his return back to the Lakers, as he took to Instagram to write about it.
What did Dennis Schröder have to say about his return to the Lakers?
Schröder took to his Instagram to speak about his return back to the Lakers.
“LakerNation! This past year didn’t feel right… I felt misunderstood and no one really knew the story! I’m coming back to the biggest organization to make s**t right! I hope LakerNation going to support me every single day! I will give everything I have every single day!! It’s an honor to play for @lakers, can’t wait to get started!!!”
It will certainly be exciting to see how Schröder’s second spell with the Lakers works out.
