The 75-year-old NBA veteran is believed to be one of the most honorable legends in NBA history. However, the 7 ft 2 in giants is not a stranger to Hollywood.
The “Glass Onion: A Knives Out mystery” was recently released on December 23rd. It has many stars alongside an NBA legend. The movie stars Daniel Craig, Edwards Norton, Kate Hudson, Dave Batista and many more, and has a cameo by the great Kareem Abdul Jabbar.
With the success of the prequel, Knives Out (2019), many celebrities wanted to jump in as a cast member of the movie. Kareem Abdul Jabbar played the role of himself in the movie. He appears when Daniel Craig, playing the role of Detective Blanc, is seen playing a popular online multiplayer game called “Among Us”.
The stars portraying Daniel Craig’s friends were Kareem, Angela Lansbury, Stephen Sondheim and Natasha Lyonne. The scene takes place as the introductory scene for Daniel Craig’s character. Although many must have missed the scene, the NBA fans were delighted to see their legend.
Kareem Abdul Jabber, NBA legend – No stranger to Hollywood
Kareem Abdul Jabbar has featured in a total of 58 movies and tv series. He has played a delightful cameo role or as a narrator. Above all, He has even received two Primetime Emmy nominations for his “outstanding narrative” in Black Patriots (2020) and Black Patriots: Heroes of the Civil Wat (2022).
Once, Jabbar also commented on the Asian stereotypes created by Hollywood. He vocalized on an incident that took place when he was studying martial arts under Bruce Lee. He said, “Back in the late ’60s when I was a student at UCLA studying martial arts under Bruce Lee, he spoke often and passionately about the harmful way Asian Americans were portrayed on television shows and in movies.”
“Asian males were grateful, sexless servants. Asian women were generally beautiful, demure, sexy servants in need of protection from the gun-toting white males. Bruce did his best to destroy those stereotypes by becoming the virile action hero in Hong Kong movies that Hollywood wouldn’t let him be.” Added Kareem.
