Philadelphia 76ers head coach Doc Rivers says James Harden who is down with injury, is working on the floor but failed to provide a return date for the star.
James Harden has spent an awful amount of time out injured in the last couple of years. After an injury-riddled short stint with the Brooklyn Nets, Harden began his first season with his new franchise last month. However, after a strong start averaging 22 points per game, Harden was sidelined with a right foot tendon strain. However, Harden has revealed he will be back soon.
Speaking to Philadelphia Sports last week, the Sixers star revealed he is well on track to return from the injury that has kept him out since early November. Harden said: “I feel good.” and revealed that he is on pace to return, as he described: “Started slowly, ramping it up a little bit… We’ve got a plan, a script that we’re trying to stick to. Overall, I feel good.”
“(The pain is) going down,” the Sixers’ superstar forward added. “I started off with a boot, but the boot kind of made my ankle and my foot stiff. So I took the boot off after maybe about four or five days. I wasn’t supposed to, but it wasn’t doing good. But yeah, just shooting, trying to get my bounce back with my shot and things like that… and just keep building from there.” While Harden is still in recovery mode, his head coach has given the latest update on him.
Rivers went on air to speak about Harden’s recovery, but failed to provide an expected date of return for the superstar.
While Harden has missed ten games owing to his injury, star center Joel Embiid has also struggled with an injury of late that has made him miss the last three games. When asked about both of their expected return dates, Rivers said: “Not that I know of. I know they’re both on the floor at the practice facility doing work, but there’s no update for a return or anything like that.”
The Sixers will want their leaders back to action as soon as possible, as they try and solidify their bid to qualify for the Playoffs.
