Donovan Mitchell recently released his newest signature shoe and feels blessed that he was able to do so
Earlier this month, Donovan Mitchell announced the release of his fourth signature shoe via twitter. He released the fourth edition of his D.O.N basketball shoes with Adidas. In the tweet Mitchell said he was blessed to be releasing his fourth signature shoe. Mitchell also mentioned that the shoe was now available to buy. In the tweet he also added a spider emoji, referring to his nickname “Spida.”
The new Donovan Mitchell signature shoes are available in four different colorways and can be bought on the Adidas website. The Adidas website mentions that the D.O.N Issue 4s are partly made out of recycled materials. The website further mentions that the shoes are light and have grip that helps keep you stable while running.
Many people wonder why Mitchell named his signature shoes the D.O.N shoes. Mitchell actually answered this question in a news article released by Adidas when the D.O.N Issue 1 came out.
D.O.N stands for Determination Over Negativity and is a testament to his unconventional path to the NBA. Mitchell commented about the name of his signature shoes in a news article and said this;
Donovan Mitchell, Adidas News Report“Determination Over Negativity is a belief that anything is possible no matter who you are or where you come from,” said Mitchell. “I wanted this sneaker to be a symbol of that – for the kid who believes they can do anything.”
The shoe is available in 4 colorways right now. It will be interesting to see if Adidas and Mitchell come out with other colorways later in the year. Either a Spiderman based colorway like they’ve done before or a Cleveland Cavaliers based colorway.
