Donovan Mitchell has confirmed his trade from the Utah Jazz to the Cleveland Cavaliers, and the NBA superstar took to his social media channels to thank everyone for his time with the Jazz.
Mitchell is one of the brightest young stars in the NBA right now, and has created a lot of ripples with his young career in the NBA so far.
Being drafted by the Denver Nuggets in 2017 and traded to Utah Jazz on draft night itself, Mitchell spent 5 years with the Jazz where he racked up three NBA All-Star appearances.
Utah’s spell at the Jazz built his reputation as one of the best young talents in the league, as he helped the Jazz to the Play-Offs in the 2021/22 season. However, Play-Off disappointment last season meant that Mitchell was put on the trade table – and it was only recently that it was announced that Mitchell would leave the Jazz for the Cleveland Cavaliers ahead of the upcoming season.
His trade to the Cavaliers would end a 5 year spell for Mitchell at the Jazz, a spell that made him the player that he is right now.

Naturally, Mitchell took to his social media channel to thank everyone that made the spell such a special and meaningful one in his young career so far. However, Mitchell made sure to thank one person in particular as he leaves the Jazz for the Cavaliers.
In particular, Mitchell thanked former Utah Jazz coach Quin Snyder for giving him the opportunity to showcase his talent.
Mitchell took to his Instagram account as he wrote on his farewell note: “Thank you for the memories and the incredible times… You guys watched me grow up on and off the floor…”
The 25 year old added: “Coach Quin thank you for giving me the opportunity and trusting me to lead this team for the last five years!! Love” It will certainly be exciting to follow how Mitchell does with the Cavaliers in the upcoming season.
