Draymond Green has hit out at the Lakers faithful who have been booing their own players during games.
The Los Angeles Lakers have been extremely disappointing this season as they currently languish in 9th place on the Western Conference table. Frank Vogel’s side, who were tipped as serious contenders for the NBA championship prior to the season, are now in danger of missing out on a playoffs berth as well.
The Lakers’ poor form and disjointed team spirit this season has also frustrated some of their own fans as well. And the Lakers supporters have not been vocal about their feelings during games.
Over the past few gamedays at the Crypto.com Arena, a number of Lakers fans were heard booing their own players. Some even had heated arguments with LeBron James and other members on the roster as well.
However, Warriors star Draymond Green believes that the Lakers fans have been spoilt beyond measures. He labelled the fans booing LeBron as ‘pathetic’ and ‘bratty’.
Draymond Green labels Lakers fans ‘Bratty’
On a recent episode of the Draymond Green Show, the Warriors star hit out at the Lakers fans who turned on their team. He said, “To get booed by your own fans is very distasteful and disgraceful. I was shocked to see that they could do that to LeBron James…I thought it was pathetic.”
The Lakers won the NBA Championship as recently as two years ago and have the most number of titles in the NBA. But Green highlighted that the fans were simply spoilt as they chose to boo their team during tough times. “I thought that was extremely pathetic, and like I said I thought it was extremely distasteful from the fanbase of an organization that has the most championships in the NBA. Let’s not be so like spoiled brats,” he explained.
The Lakers currently have 27 wins and 34 losses this season ahead of their clash against the LA Clippers on Thursday night. A win against their local rivals is a must if they are to stand any chance of progressing to the playoffs.
