Kevin Durant’s fans were left unimpressed with his “healthy” message about the NFL.
Durant is one of the most polarizing figures in the NBA at the moment. Even though he is undoubtedly one of the best players in the game right now (some would say he’s even one of the greatest of all time), the Brooklyn Nets superstar’s personality off the floor has ensured that there is always a host of detractors looking to scrutinize every move of his to pull him down.
The most recent instance of fans scrutinizing Kevin Durant’s activity off the court happened recently courtesy of a tweet. Kevin Durant is widely known as one of the most active basketball players there is, or ever was on social media, and most of his tweets usually entice plenty of reactions – and it would be just fair to say that the latest one proved up to the billing and did not fail him.
Durant wrote his latest tweet as a precursor for the upcoming NFL season, serving as a note of good luck to the NFL players who will take part in the new season. The tweet read: “Love to all the NFL homies, I appreciate all y’all do for fans worldwide. Have a fun and healthy season…let’s get it.”
It looked like a healthy message and should not have had any repercussions from the NBA community on Twitter. However, the fans on the social media platform had other plans.
It would be fair to say that the fans did not let Durant easy on the tweet.
The tweet attracted some very hostile responses. While one fan said: “Bro can’t win in a championship in the NBA so he tryna join a NFL team”, another said: “you going to the nfl because you can’t win anymore in the nba?”
Durant’s love and hate relationship with his fans is likely to not stop anytime soon, and it will only get more entertaining when the NBA season begins in October.
