Only Giannis Antetokounmpo, Michael Jordan, and Hakeem Olajuwon have achieved this great and rare feat in the NBA.
Michael Jordan is considered arguably the greatest player ever in the NBA. Many believe the records he had in the playoffs and the NBA Finals will never be matched. During his two-year absence from the league, Hakeem Olajuwon and the Houston Rockets were able to dominate the league and win the title.
Both Jordan and Olajuwon are all-time greats. Another player who is on the horizon of becoming an all-time great is Giannis Antetokounmpo. At such a young age, he has already won almost every individual award that is used to signify the greatness of an NBA player.
Michael Jordan, Giannis Antetokounmpo, and Hakeem Olajuwon are the only players in the history of the NBA to win the MVP award and DPOY award in the same season. No other player has achieved what they have done, and it is one of the most remarkable feats in the history of the game.
It further signifies how great all three of them were on both ends of the court. Moreover, due to their brilliance on both ends of the court, they have also won Finals MVP in every NBA Finals that they have played in.
Giannis Antetokounmpo is on the trajectory to end up as a top-10 player
Giannis Antetokounmpo is an NBA champion, Finals MVP, Defensive Player of the Year, and two-time league MVP. He still has a long way to go in his career, and the ceiling for him is quite high.
If Giannis is able to win 2-3 championships more in his time in the league, it will be hard to put him outside the top-10 list because of his brilliance on both ends of the court, and how dominant he has been throughout his career.
