Social media reacts as Giannis Antetokounmpo wins first NBA title after Game 6 of the finals

Giannis Antetokounmpo is finally a champion as Milwaukee Bucks won their first NBA title after winning Game 6 of the NBA finals against the Phoenix Suns.

The Bucks fell behind 2-0 in the series, but recovered to win four straight games to claim the Larry O’Brien Trophy. This is the first title for the Bucks since 1971.

Twitter went wild after an old tweet from late legend Kobe Bryant went viral about the Greek supremo.

The 2x MVP finished the game with one of the best stat lines in NBA Finals history — 50 points, 14 rebounds, and five blocks. He was also named as the Bill Russell Finals’ MVP.

Antetokounmpo became only the seventh player in NBA history to score 50-plus points in a Finals game. He also became the first player ever to record 50 points, 10 rebounds and five blocks in a playoff game.

Meanwhile, Chris Paul and the Suns will be utterly disappointed considering how they began the series. After a 2-0 lead, they did not look the same collective unit that made them one of the most efficient teams in the league this year. Paul is the first player ever to blow four 2-0 leads in the Playoffs.

Is Giannis a Top-5 PF of all time?

After bagging 2 MVPS and a Finals MVP in the last three years, Antetokounmpo is slowly turning into one of the best power forwards to ever grace the league. It was the third game this series with at least 40 points and 10 rebounds for Antetokounmpo, a dominant debut finals showing which could match the league’s best ever.

His physicality and determination on court makes him one of the best players in the NBA currently. Legends like Tim Duncan, Dirk Nowitzki, Karl Malone, and Charles Barkley are in this debate, but no one can argue that the Greek has already exceeded expecations at 26.

With his stats getting better season after season, he could possibly outperform the likes of Duncan and Nowitzki and create an unmatched legacy in the NBA for years to come.
