Giannis Antetokounmpo remains humble despite the Milwaukee Bucks starting their NBA season with a picture-perfect 6-0 start.

The Milwaukee Bucks have had an incredible start to their season. The Bucks recorded a sixth straight win of their season when they emerged winners against the Detroit Pistons at the Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee on Monday night. The Bucks recorded a 110-108 win as even though the Pistons came up with a late fightback in the fourth quarter, the Bucks held on for the victory.

The final buzzer meant that the Bucks had now recorded six consecutive wins on the trot, an incredible achievement that marks them as one of the early title contenders for the season. The Bucks remain the only unbeaten team in the league this season, and look unbeatable right now – but their main man Giannis Antetokounmpo is not willing to go overboard with their early form.

Following the win where he racked up 31 points, 7 rebounds and 2 assists and completed 12 out of his 23 field goals at a 52% success rate, Giannis took to his Instagram account to post his thoughts on the Bucks’ current form. Giannis posted a picture of himself from the game with the caption “The first six steps of the journey were great, but it’s a long road ahead. Keep going.”

It was an inspirational message by the Greek Freak who seems to be in excellent touch, and motivated to bring the title back to Milwaukee.

How has Giannis performed this season on the court?

Giannis’ early season form has seen him as one of the contenders for the MVP award.

Giannis Antetokounmpo

Giannis has been the Bucks’ main man all through the start of the season. The Greek Freak is in incredible form himself and is pushing his teammates to another level with every passing game. Monday night’s performance was Antetokounmpo’s fifth straight 30+ performance of the season as the Greek Freak averages 33.8 points, 12.83 rebounds and 5.16 assists per game.

As he put it himself, the NBA season is a marathon and not a sprint, and both Giannis, as well as the Bucks, will hope to keep up their form and live up to their tag as this season’s early favourites.
