Goran Dragic signs a $2.9M deal with the Chicago Bulls

Published by

Goran Dragic will be heading to the Windy City next season, as the Bulls continue to strengthen their roster.

Goran Dragic, who played for the Brooklyn Nets last season, will be playing for the Chicago Bulls next season. He has signed a one-year deal worth $2.9 million.

Dragic, 36, is undoubtedly approaching the end of his professional career, but he still has some gas in the tank, as he demonstrated with the Nets last year.

At the end of the season, Dragic played in 16 regular-season games for the team, averaging 7.3 points, 4.8 assists, and 3.2 rebounds per game — respectable numbers for a backup. Dragic is obviously not ready to call it a career, despite his senior age.

It’s difficult to predict how much of a role Dragic will play in Chicago given that the backcourt already consists of Lonzo Ball, Alex Caruso, Coby White, and Ayo Dosunmu. However, it’s always a good idea to have seasoned pros on your team, especially if you’re the Bulls and you want to compete in the tough Eastern Conference.

Additionally, he will act as a form of insurance as Lonzo Ball is still recovering from a knee injury that held him out for a significant portion of the previous season.

Goran Dragic was expected to sign with the Dallas Mavericks

Goran Dragic was expected to pair up with his fellow countryman Luka Doncic in Dallas. Many believed he’ll be a Maverick next season but it didn’t happen.

Luka’s wait to play with Dragic continues, but Goran Dragic has found himself a good team, which is more than capable of making a good run next season. The Mavs on the other hand are also looking quite good, but they’ll need to add a few more pieces before the season starts.
