Unfortunately, we couldn’t witness Kyrie Irving locking horns against LeBron James on Monday Night as the latter was rested citing ankle soreness. Yet that wasn’t going to take away how well these two former teammates respect one another. To add to this, Irving detailed how well King James has been leading the NBA in his year 20.
Just to give the readers an idea of how efficiently LeBron James is going in his year 20 – he has averaged 36.0 points, 9.3 rebounds and 7.5 assists over the course of his last four games in the league. While the Los Angeles Lakers might be on the receiving end in some of the games yet LeBron James has not shied away from putting up his best performance.
It is safe to say that with Anthony Davis being injured once again in the 2022-23 season, LeBron along with Thomas Bryant, Russell Westbrook, and Dennis Schroder is quite the reason why this Purple and Gold side is still in the postseason hunt.
Kyrie Irving on LeBron James
“Now he’s 38-years-old and he’s still dominating. I don’t think we should be surprised. I think we should congratulate him and celebrate him as much as possible,” Irving said in his postgame presser after powering the Brooklyn Nets to a 128-120 win over the Los Angeles Lakers at the Barclays Center.
While LeBron does have his fair share of haters, it is always great to witness your former teammates speaking so highly of you.
