LeBron James inches closer to Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. The Los Angeles Lakers finished first in the nail-biting thriller against the Sacramento Kings on Saturday night.
After James’ spectacular 37-point performance with 8 rebounds and 7 assists, Lakers land their 5th straight win. ‘King Lebron’ after this juncture, he stands with a total of 37,965 points behind Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s 38,387.
LeBron James vocalized his thought process towards the all-time leading scorer of NBA. In conversation with ESPN’s Dave McMenamin, “The scoring record was never ever even thought of in my head because I’ve always been a pass-first guy. I’ve always loved seeing the success of my teammates,”
Earlier in the 2022-23 season. LeBron said for him it is an honor to be named amongst the like of Kareem Abdul-Jabbar in the all-time scoring leader board. He is not only 422 points behind the Legendary Lakers’ Hall of Famer. An average of 254 points per game, would get Bron there in the next 16-17 matches.

The Laker’s seemed to be finding their MOJO and LeBron has his say in every game. Against the Sacramento Kings, Bron was helped by a mesmerizing gameplay by Thomas Bryant, Dennis Schroder, and Russell Westbrook.
Although, LeBron is writing his path towards being known as the greatest NBA scorer in the history of the league. He is not boding well with the type of season Los Angeles Lakers are having.
“I want to win. [The losing is] not sitting well with me,” James told ESPN. “I don’t like having accomplishments, and it don’t feel right, when it comes in a losing effort. . .. So, as we sit here right now as a franchise and as a team that’s below .500,” added the 4-time NBA Champion.
“We’ve been playing some good basketball as of late, but we want to, and I want to win at the highest level. Breaking records or setting records or passing greats in a losing effort has never been a DNA of mine.”
