How many All-Star appearances does LeBron James have?
LeBron James is widely regarded as one of the best players to ever step foot on a basketball court. The Los Angeles Lakers superstar is currently in his 20th season in the NBA and boasts a career that any rookie would dream to have, having won four NBA Championships, four regular season MVPs and having shattered a number of records along the way to where he is right now.
It was only last season that LeBron became the only player in NBA history to rack up 10,000 points, rebounds and assists – and currently, in his 20th season in the league, LeBron is in the top ten in both all-time charts for points and assists. While he is fourth on the all-time assists tally, he is closing in on Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s long-standing record of most points scored in the NBA.
Therefore, it might not be surprising to many that with his most recent inclusion in the 2023 All-Star game, LeBron James also became the joint highest feature in the All-Star game of all time. The Lakers superstar who is a four-time champion has recently become a 19-time All-Star, equalling the legendary Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s record as the highest feature in All-Star history.
However, there are quite a few notable others on the list for the most All-Star appearances – some of which we will list as follows.
Apart from James and Abdul-Jabbar who lead the list for most All-Star appearances, there are quite a few other legendary names in what is a very star-studded list.
Kobe Bryant directly trails James and Abdul-Jabbar with 18 selections, who is followed by Tim Duncan, Kevin Garnett and Shaquille O’Neal with 15 each. Michael Jordan, Karl Malone, Dirk Nowitzki and Jerry West trail them with 14 selections each, while Wilt Chamberlain, Bob Cousy, Kevin Durant, John Havlicek and Dwyane Wade follow them with 13 each.
Names like Magic Johnson, Larry Bird, Elvin Hayes, Moses Malone, Hakeem Olajuwon, Chris Paul and Bill Russell have had 12 selections each, while Charles Barkley and Allan Iverson have 11 each. They are followed by Ray Allen and Carmelo Anthony with 10 each while the currently reigning All-Star MVP – the Golden State Warriors’ Steph Curry has had nine selections.
