Kevin Durant is one of the best players in the game right now in his own right.
The Brooklyn Nets superstar is reputed for his shooting ability and his overall forward play, and has turned out for franchises such as the Oklahoma City Thunder, the Golden State Warriors and the Nets over his NBA career spanning from 2007 to present day.
In his 15 year long career in the NBA so far, Durant has put together a set of accolades that most professionals in the game would envy.
Kevin Durant commonly known by his initials “KD” has won two NBA Championship titles along with two NBA Finals MVP awards, accompanied by a regular season MVPs and a host of All-Stars and All-Star Game MVPs along the way.
Durant is a 12-time NBA All-Star and has won the All-Star Game MVP twice, but the biggest highlight of his career has certainly been winning the NBA Championship with the Golden State Warriors in back-to-back seasons both of the seasons where he also won the Finals’ MVP.
Upon joining the Golden State Warriors in 2016, Durant started the most dominant phase of his career with the California franchise where he reached three NBA Finals and helped the Dubs win two of them.
Durant was the Finals’ MVP for both the seasons where the Warriors came out on the top of the NBA, helping the Warriors defeat Cleveland Cavaliers in back-to-back finals. However, he could not help the Warriors make it three Championships in a row as the Dubs went down to Toronto Raptors in 2019 and Durant left for Brooklyn Nets later that year.
However, his spell at the Nets has not been a huge success as he has only helped the Nets achieve one Play-Off win in two years which resulted in him requesting owner Joe Tsai earlier this summer to help him get a trade.
Will Durant be off to greener pastures elsewhere?
Even after Durant handed in a request for a trade, it seems like the Nets and Durant have settled their differences which will see the 32-year-old stay with the Brooklyn franchise.
In a statement released by the Nets, it was said that the franchise and Durant have “one collective goal in mind”, of bringing an NBA title to Brooklyn.
Durant agreed to continuing his partnership with the Nets, making Brooklyn an important contender for the title in the upcoming season.
