As the Nets take on the Hornets, Kyrie Irving clearly signals with, “I AM FREE” on his sneakers

Kyrie Irving seemed to be delighted with this most recent development after learning that Nike had formally opted to end his contract. The All-Star point guard promptly tweeted a mysterious message. Kyrie Irving revealed the fact that he is now “free,” with a message, “I am free” on his sneakers during the Nets’ game against the Charlotte Hornets on Wednesday.

In any case, if you take into account how sportswear company Nike opted to break connections with the Brooklyn Nets player after he promoted an antisemitic movie on Twitter, the fallout from Kyrie Irving’s recent antisemitic issue is still very much alive.

On his sneaker, Irving chose to tape up the Nike label. By writing “I am free” over the emblem, Kyrie Irving went one step further. That is brutal. Irving doesn’t appear to be concerned by the fact that the world’s largest sportswear company has chosen to remove him from their roster.

Why did Kyrie Irving put up the message “I am free” on his sneakers?

For some people, Nike’s choice to terminate relations with Kyrie Irving was rather unexpected. At the height of this crisis, Nike initially stopped their contract with the Nets guard. The situation finally subsided, and Irving expressed regret for his behaviour. It appeared as though Irving had already received forgiveness from the basketball community, but Nike, it seems, had a different opinion.

For what it’s worth, news immediately spread that Ja Morant, a standout player for the Memphis Grizzlies, is now set to have his debut shoe launched by Nike soon. Nike seems to have moved quickly to replace the troubled Kyrie Irving.

Because of this action by the renowned brand, Nike, Kyrie Irving chose to stand up for himself and replaced the Nike emblem on his sneakers with the words “I am free.”
