Kawhi Leonard spoke about making his return for the Los Angeles Clippers following an injury layoff that kept him out of action for more than a year.

Kawhi Leonard finally returned to action for the Los Angeles Clippers. After an injury layoff that saw him miss 476 days through an ACL injury, Leonard returned to action in a preseason game for the Clippers against the Portland Trail Blazers. The Clippers superstar had a good outing on his return to action and spoke about how returning to the basketball court felt like for him.

Leonard tore the anterior cruciate ligament of his right foot playing in Game 2 of the 2021 Play-Offs against the Utah Jazz, and remained on the sidelines for the entire 2021/22 season. It was a huge miss for the Clippers having one of their star players out for so long, but it seems like Leonard is back at his best – as he nailed down a three pointer after being on the court for only 15 seconds.

It was a good outing for Leonard back in action, as he helped the Clippers win 102-97 against the Trailblazers in the preseason outing. Speaking to the press following the game, Leonard spoke about how it felt to be back in action for the first time in nearly 15 months spent out with injury.

An excited Leonard spoke about making his return to action on the basketball court.

“It was great,” Leonard said after racking up 11 points and 4 rebounds in the 16 minutes he got in the Clippers’ preseason win over the Trailblazers at Seattle’s Climate Pledge Arena on Monday night.

“Just being able to put all that hard work that I did throughout the, 14, 16 months, just able to put it to test and playing against NBA talent, it was good. Just being out there with the guys and talking, I missed it. It was a great experience for me.”
