Luka Doncic visited Inside The NBA and remembered the day when Kobe Bryant trash-talked about Luka in his own language
Following a 21-point comeback victory over the LA Clippers in Game 4 of their Western Conference first-round series, Luka Doncic decided to join the Inside team from his room at the NBA’s Orlando campus as the league paid tribute to Kobe Bryant.
In the episode of Inside The NBA, when asked to share an experience of Bryant by the presenter Ernie Johnson, Luka Doncic recalled a tale about being heckled in Slovenian by Kobe Bryant while sitting courtside at the Staples Center.
Doncic said that “he yelled some foul remarks in my language.” Who is that person speaking in my language, I thought. and Kobe was there! “It was something amazing that I will never forget. After the game I came and took a picture with him. He was one of the guys I always looked up to. I will never forget it.”
How did Kobe Bryant die?
Kobe Bryant died on January 26 along with his daughter Gianna and seven others in a helicopter crash. The NBA declared August 24 to be Kobe Bryant Day in memory of the late Lakers legend’s jersey numbers eight and twenty-four.
During the Dallas Mavericks-Los Angeles Lakers game on Sunday night, a Lakers fan once yelled at Luka Doncic so loudly that Doncic had to address the supporter.
When Luka Doncic realized that it was Kobe Bryant, he grinned and shook his hand. To the dismay of Maverick supporters everywhere, Doncic spent some time with Kobe in August of 2018 and was so happy he uploaded a photo on Twitter that the two are truly acquainted.
