In an episode on the Big Podcast with Shaq, Shaquille O’Neal responds to Ben Simmons calling him a hater
In a recent episode of The Big Podcast with Shaq, Shaquille O’Neal responded to Ben Simmons calling him a hater. He explained his thoughts further and told Ben Simmons to deal with his issues. Shaq further explained that it wasn’t a personal attack on Simmons and that he was just trying to give Ben some advice on how to be a great basketball player. O’Neal wanted to make sure that his comments were not taken out of context and prevent a Shaq Ben Simmons feud from happening.
Shaq said that NBA players get paid a lot of money and that they have to deal with their issues because they are getting paid so much. He’s given Simmons this advice so that he can have a long and successful NBA career.
Simmons was also upset with the fact that even though he and Shaq both went to LSU, Shaq was not treating him like a brother and had not reached out to him during his struggles. Simmons also said that he didn’t appreciate Shaq criticizing him without knowing the whole story.
Shaq responded to Ben’s comments and said that they could be LSU brothers but that doesn’t mean he would sugarcoat things.
The NBA community is disappointed with Ben Simmons because of how he ended things with the Philadelphia 76ers and how he started his career with the Brooklyn Nets. Simmons ended his stint with the 76ers by refusing to play and sitting out half the 2021-22 season before being traded to the Brooklyn Nets.
After being traded to the Nets, he ramped up a return to basketball before being sidelined with a back injury. This combined with his mental health issues kept him from playing for the Nets.
A number of fans and critics were unhappy that Simmons didn’t make an appearance in the first round of the playoffs against the Celtics. They were unhappy because Simmons seemed physically healthy but didn’t play. In addition to all of this, it doesn’t help that Ben Simmons was once compared to LeBron James.
