“I’m gonna be great”: Dennis Schroder sent buzzing message to Darvin Ham before taking charge of clash against Miami Heat

Dennis Schroder has just 18 points in the first three quarters as the Los Angeles Lakers were desperately searching for a marquee leader to inspire them past the victory line against the star-studded Miami Heat. Having not been at his ruthless best in the past couple of seasons, the German International played his best-ever game for the Los Angeles Lakers as he added another 14 points in the fourth quarter to secure the 17th for his team in the 2022-23 campaign.

However, there was one moment in the fourth quarter where many thought of Dennis Schroder’s night coming to an end. Making his way to the rim, the 29-year-old twisted his entire ankle as he screamed in agony and pain.

Lakers Coach Darvin Ham even told Schroder his desire of pulling him out of the game. But this is just where the German gave Darvin the perfect quickfire response. Not only did he knock down a couple of clutch free throws but his presence even allowed Russell Westbrook to find open space in the Heat’s paint during the last scoring play for the Lakers.

What did Dennis Schroder tell Darvin Ham?

As mentioned by Fadeaway World, “Darvin Ham says that he told Schroder that he was gonna take him out of the game if he was limping because of his ankle but Dennis said he wanted to stay in. Darvin then said, ‘Alright, then you better be good,’ and Dennis responded, ‘I’m not gonna be good, I’m gonna be great.’”
