Draymond Green has nowhere been near his best form despite the Golden State Warriors being considered as favorites to defend their title in this season. Moreover, things have just gone haywire for them as a Kyrie Irving-less Brooklyn Nets thumped them143-113 in their most recent showdown.
With Stephen Curry out, the likes of Jordan Poole, Klay Thompson and the former DPOY were expected to lead the side on either ends of the court. Given the added responsibility, Green seems to be simply overburdened with it. This is just when Draymond Green went onto trash talk his former teammate, Kevin Durant.
There was a point at halftime where the defending champions were down by as many as 40 points, with Kevin Durant in Jordan-esquee form to extend his team’s winning run. Perhaps that enables Green to once again visibly show his frustration towards Kevin. However, this time Draymond did not get the better off his opponent whilst trash talking, rather it only KD to destroy his team with game high tally.
Draymond Green trash talks to Kevin Durant
The unexpected scene was when Draymond Green trash talked Kevin Durant, and immediately directed an apology towards Kyrie Irving, who wasn’t even a part of the game. Green can be seen apologizing to Kyrie with a gesture while also yelling, ‘I’m sorry Kai.’
Now fans would be aware that Green is even known to push his opponents to an extend where they want to start a physical fight with him. But to witness him apologizing was a unique experience in itself.
While this may seem shocking, Draymond Green was quickly back to being himself as he sarcastically Irving shots at Kyrie. Any which way, it is nice to see the 4-time NBA Champ still being in a good space with his former teammate.
