Shaquille O’Neal has been appointed to the position of deputy on over one occasion. The NBA Hall of Famer has been involved in working with the law enforcement since his playing days and has continued to do so even in recent years.

The former NBA big man was named a honorary US Deputy Marshall in 2005, a reserve deputy by the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office in Louisiana in 2020 and served as an honorary deputy in both Bedford County, Virginia and Maricopa County, Arizona for a period. Shaq was more recently named the Director of Community Relations at the Henry County Sheriff’s Office in 2021.

O’Neal was picked by the Orlando Magic in the 1992 NBA draft and even reached the finals with them in the1995 playoffs. Despite that, Shaq is most well known for his partnership with fellow NBA legend Kobe Bryant and the tumultuous relationship that led to 3 NBA Championships.
