Isiah Thomas seems to have predicted the secret weapon in LeBron James’ arsenal coming into the new NBA season.
LeBron James is gearing up for the 20th professional NBA season of his career. The Los Angeles Lakers superstar has had a career that exemplifies greatness and longevity, as being at the top of the NBA pyramid for nearly two decades is no mean feat. One of the main traits that have helped LeBron maintain his longevity at the very highest level there is, is his willingness to evolve.
At the highest level of the sport, one can not keep getting away with doing the same moves for a very long time. With technology and data seeping deeper into the sport with every passing year, it’s near impossible to stay at the top with a stagnant skill set – and hence, the best in their game always find a way to evolve. It looks like LeBron has just done just that ahead of the new season.
The Los Angeles Lakers went up against the Phoenix Suns in their latest preseason outing in Las Vegas, and even though the game ended in a 115-119 loss for the Lakers – LeBron caught all the eyeballs with a 17-minute cameo where he racked up 23 points, four assists and four rebounds. However, the highlight of his night was one particular three-pointer that got social media talking.
LeBron dribbled past two Suns players and hopped on one leg as he nailed down a three-pointer almost effortlessly. The one-legged move was one that had never been seen in LeBron’s arsenal before, as the audience in attendance as well as fans on social media were left stunned by its audacity – but NBA legend Isiah Thomas actually spoke about the efficiency of the shot.
The NBA legend took to his Twitter to speak about LeBron’s audacious one-legged manoeuvre.
Writing on his official Twitter account, the Detroit Pistons legend and two time NBA champion wrote about the efficiency of the audacious jump shot. Thomas wrote: “Great shot!!! If you on balance it’s actually a better and quicker shot than getting the feet set. Work on that everyday.”
It would not be surprising at all to see LeBron whip out the one-legged three-pointer yet again when the regular season tips off later this month.
