Isiah Thomas hails Kevin Durant’s leadership after Brooklyn Nets contest for No. 1 spot in EC

Kevin Durant has come a long way in the NBA, and in his year-15, the former MVP is proving just that. From a point when his entire career was in jeopardy due to an Achilles injury scare, Durant has exceeded all expectations in stamping his authority in the league as a ‘generational talent,’ the same was also acknowledged by Detroit Pistons legend Isiah Thomas.

Just like LeBron James, Kevin Durant has also been producing some brilliant individual performances. Not only that, he too is carrying the weight of his franchise’s playoff aspirations on his shoulders just like the 37-year-old veteran. Moreover, right after his trade request, it seems like the former Warriors main-man ahs found new love for him teammates in Brooklyn.

Isiah Thomas pointed the same out whilst commenting about Kevin Durant’s in-game chemistry with his teammates.

Isiah Thomas on Kevin Durant’s leadership

Durant is averaging 30.0 points per game in his 15th year in the NBA. In less than 50 days he has climbed from the 19th spot in the all-time scoring list to 15th, surpassing Spurs legend Tim Duncan. If he is able to play as long as LeBron, who knows where we might put KD in the GOAT debate.

Thomas stated, “When you combine great offense with good defense and it’s all been led by Kevin Durant. Not only does he block shots around the basket, he’s rebounding the basketball and he’s playing with such energy. Not only is he playing with great energy, he’s become a much better teammate in terms of his leadership over this period of time. When you look at the chaos they went through and how he had to pull everyone together and then he had to become the leader of the defensive unit as well as be the offensive powerhouse he is. It’s remarkable.”
