The Memphis Grizzlies superstar Ja Morant made a bold statement regarding outplaying Michael Jordan.
Ja Morant had a great year last season. He became an all-star, and his team made a huge leap. Ja has become one of the top point guards in the league, and he has a very bright future ahead of him.
The Memphis Grizzlies star is very confident in himself. His tweets on Twitter show that he stays true to his roots and never wants to change. Recently, he appeared in an interview and came up with multiple bold statements.
He went after Michael Jordan and claimed that he would have cooked the GOAT if he played in that era. People didn’t like this statement by Ja and called him arrogant.
On the interview, Ja Morant said, “I wish I would have played in his generation … I would like to play against him. I would’ve cooked him too. Nobody got more confidence than 12.”
He added, “I’m never gonna go and say nobody’s gonna beat me at one-on-one in anything. I don’t care what it is, what sport it is. Soccer. Who’s the best player in soccer? Come on, we can play.”
Would Ja Morant have ‘cooked’ Michael Jordan?
Ja Morant is one of the most explosive and high-flying point guards that the league has ever seen. He certainly had the skill to get buckets on Michael Jordan. Jordan always had trouble with fast guards, and Ja is certainly like that.
However, using the word cooked is not appropriate. Michael Jordan is arguably the best player to ever play in the NBA. If Ja would have got some buckets on MJ, the Bulls legend would absolutely destroy the young Grizzlies star.
