Ja Morant erupted for 49 points against the Houston Rockets even when their fan bought out a voodoo doll.
A Houston Rockets fan brought a homemade voodoo doll that bears an odd resemblance to Memphis Grizzlies superstar Ja Morant to an Oct. 21 game at the Toyota Center in Houston.
It seems like not even supernatural powers could stop the Grizzlies’ star. He scored 49 with 17-26 shooting and led the team to victory over Houston 129-122.
The fan has said that he did not want any malice to the player and with the voodoo, he only wants the Memphis all-star to score less against the Rockets.
At a point in the game, Memphis was down by 16 points but Ja and the company played some good minutes and brought back the game and won it by 7 points. This is when the Houston fan might have thought that his voodoo is working, but Morant and Jaren Jackson changed the dynamics of the game soon enough.
How Ja Morant voodoo made the news
The NBA all-star point guard is quite popular and everything covering him has the potential to be in the news. A Rockets fan bringing in the voodoo to the game made the instant news as well.
With this voodoo, Drew Hill of The Daily Memphian tweeted out a photo of the Rockets fan with the caption, “This man has a Ja Morant voodoo doll.
His chant: “I don’t want the player to be hurt or maimed, I just want the player to have a really bad game.”
Ja Morant’s response to the evil voodoo tactic
Memphis is off to a strong start this season, going 2-0. Morant responded to his voodoo of him on Twitter. He showed his belief in the man above and tweeted, “covered by God. 🙏🏽.”
The Star point guard believes in his game and keeps his trust in god. Even though the fan just wanted a bad performance, Morant knows god got him.
The fourth-year Grizzlies player is without a doubt one of the best young players in the NBA and is a frontrunner MVP candidate this season. Morant has already won Rookie of the Year, Most Improved Player, and NBA All-Star starter. He also has every capacity to win a ring and MVP with his skillset.
