Jalen Rose has revealed what he told Stephen Curry during the Golden State Warriors’ latest game against the Detroit Pistons.
The Detroit Pistons went up against the Golden State Warriors at the Little Caesars Arena in Detroit on Sunday night. While the defending champions started the game on the front foot and won the first quarter with ease, the home side showed resilience to come back from a losing position and win all three of the remaining quarters to record a 128-114 win over the visitors.
It was a total show of resilience by the Pistons who had racked up only a solitary win in their season so far, but yet rallied to turn it around against the defending champions from last season. Saddiq Bey and company got the best out of themselves to hold a star-studded Warriors outfit including the likes of Stephen Curry, Draymond Green, Jordan Poole and Andrew Wiggins.
Even though Curry was not at his best during the game, the four time champion and the reigning MVP racked up 32 points in the game alongside 6 rebounds and 3 assists. However, it has to be said that Curry was not in his usual zone from outside the arc, as he completed only 4 of his attempted 14 three pointers at a success rate of 29% – far off his very lofty usual standards.
Though it turns out that there might be a reason for Curry’s uncharacteristic bad shooting form, as Jalen Rose revealed what he told Curry during the game.
What did Rose tell Curry during the Warriors v Pistons game?
It turns out that Rose told Curry to not shoot “torch” them from threes during the game.
The former Detroit Pistons star was on the sidelines as the Pistons defeated the Warriors. Following the game, Rose took to his Twitter to quote a tweet featuring him speaking with Curry on the floor – while the tweet asked fans about what they think Rose might have been telling Curry, Rose cleared all doubts himself as he simply wrote “Don’t torch us from 3.”
The ‘request’ worked in the Pistons’ favor as Curry had an uncharacteristic shooting night – though he will certainly be back in his zone when the Warriors’ meet the Miami Heat next.
