Denver Nuggets star Jamal Murray congratulated the Colorado Avalanche as they won the Stanley Cup against the Tampa Bay Lightning.
The Colorado Avalanche were crowned as the Stanley Cup Champions after they defeated the Tampa Bay Lightning in Game 6 of the NHL Finals. This capped off a great season for the Avs, who looked like the best team throughout the season.
Jamal Murray, who plays for the Denver Nuggets, congratulated the Colorado Avalanche on winning the Stanley Cup. Since both franchises are based in Colorado, the connection is strong between Murray and the Avs.
Nathan MacKinnon once again came up clutch for the Avalanche, as he continued his great run in the playoffs and scored another goal in Game 6.
The Lightning took the lead through a goal by Steven Stamkos, but they weren’t able to hold on to their lead. After MacKinnon had leveled the game in the 2nd quarter, Artturi Lehkonen scored another goal for the Avs and gave them the lead that won them the championship.
Colorado Avalanche spoiled the Tampa Bay Lightning’s dream of a three-peat
The Tampa Bay Lightning came into these playoffs in pursuit of completing a three-peat. They had won the last two Stanley Cups. Despite not playing up to their standards, they withstood all the challenges thrown their way in the playoffs and made it to the final.
However, the Colorado Avalanche had other plans. They blew away every team that was in front of them in the playoffs and cruised to the finals. In Game 2, they destroyed the Lightning by 7-0. Even though Tampa was able to take the series to game 6, the Avs didn’t mess around and got the job done in front of Lightning fans.
