James Harden showered special praise on his teammate Joel Embiid after the latter scored a whopping 59 points for the Philadelphia 76ers against the Utah Jazz on Sunday.
It was an incredible night for Joel Embiid at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia on Sunday night. The Philadelphia 76ers defeated the Utah Jazz 105-98 and turned a first-half deficit around to win the game, courtesy of an incredible, complete performance from Joel Embiid where he racked up an exceptional stat line that read 59 points, 11 rebounds, 8 assists and 7 blocks.
The Jazz started the game on the front foot as they led in both of the first two quarters, but the 76ers center ensured that the Sixers were back in the league with a complete performance that almost single-handedly downed the Jazz. Embiid was sensational on the offensive and the defensive front as he helped the Sixers turn the deficit around and win the contest in style.
Even in the absence of their talisman James Harden, the Sixers came up with a dominant display courtesy of their big center who racked up 19 of his attempted 28 total field goals at a success rate of 68%. As it turned out, it was a career-high and a season-high performance from Embiid, and the NBA community were full of praise for the Sixers center when the final buzzer rang.
His teammate James Harden also joined in the Embiid praise soon after the game.
What did James Harden have to say about his teammate’s performance?
Harden kept it short and sweet as he went on his Twitter to shower praise on a monstrous performance by his teammate.
Posting on his Twitter following the game, the forward who has been out of action for the Sixers through an injury showered high praise upon his teammate who dragged the Sixers to an important win. Posting a picture of himself with Embiid, Harden captioned it with “1 of 1” – to denote the rarity of Embiid’s talent and a glimpse of what it might be like on his return to action.
The 76ers fans will certainly hope for Harden to be back as soon as possible, to stir up a partnership with Embiid as the Sixers aim to make it to the Playoffs this season.
