Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown have full faith in themselves and their team ahead of the biggest game of their career.
Game 6 of the NBA Finals is ahead of us. The Boston Celtics will play their last home game of this season, and they will certainly hope to win it. On the other hand, the Golden State Warriors have an opportunity to close out the series and win their 4th championship in 7 seasons.
Jayson Tatum who hasn’t played up to his standards in the Finals was quite optimistic about his team’s chances in game 6. He is well aware that the Celtics were in a similar situation during their journey to the NBA Finals, and he thinks they can once again overcome it.
Tatum said, “I think just how we respond. It hasn’t been easy. It’s been extremely tough. We’ve had some tough losses. Losing Game 5 against Milwaukee was extremely tough. Knowing we had to win two, go on the road. Losing Game 6 against the Heat was extremely tough.”
The ECF Finals MVP added, “In those moments, we just responded. I don’t know exactly what it is, but I think just our will to want to win, just trying to figure it out.”
Jaylen Brown has had a better series than Tatum. He has a good opportunity to win the Finals MVP award if the Celtics are able to win the championship. He is looking forward to facing the Warriors in Game 6 and is quite confident about it.
Brown said, “Everything has been a learning experience. We wear everything that we learned this year as a badge of honor that we kind of wear, We don’t let it hang over our heads. We bounce back. We’ve been able to respond well all year. We’re looking forward to the challenge. We got to embrace it.”
He added, “Ain’t no other way around it. Last game on our home floor to kind of embody our whole season. We’re looking to give it everything we got. We are not scared, We do not fear the Golden State Warriors. We want to come out and play the best version of basketball that we can.”
The Boston Celtics have been in a similar situation before, and they have overcome it. They will have the support of their fans, and there is a good chance they will be able to win game 6 and force game 7 back in Bay Area.
