The Boston Celtics defeated the Detroit Pistons as the two sides met at the Little Caesars Arena in Detroit on Saturday night. The visitors secured a 117-108 win over the hosts to continue their strong start to the season and were helped by one of the early contenders for the Most Valuable Player this season in Jayson Tatum – who had an incredible performance throughout the game.

Tatum racked up 43 points, 10 rebounds, and 3 assists in an incredible performance to help the Celtics win their 10th win of the season in 13 games. His teammates helped the Celtics forward-guard, especially by an unselfish Marcus Smart performance as the guard racked up 18 points, 2 rebounds and 10 assists in the game – however, he got one assist hilariously wrong.

Smart and Tatum were trending on social media following the game not only for their incredible displays but also for a single passage of play that went hilariously wrong for the pair. It was during a turnover where Smart covered the length of the court with Tatum trailing in his wake, and instead of going for the bucket – Smart chose to set his teammate up with an alley-oop.

With a simple two pointers in his reach, Smart was unselfish and set up his teammate with an alley-oop – however, it went wrong as the set up crashed off the backboard. With the ball not where Tatum hoped for it to be, Tatum failed to control the ball and came up with a frail effort that failed to go in – Smart failed to make a three off the rebound too.
