The Boston Celtics led by Jayson Tatum edged through the 1st game of the series against the Brooklyn Nets, as they won via a Tatum buzzer-beater game-winning layup, which erupted the Garden.
Jayson Tatum had an exceptional game in the playoff opener, as he scored 31 points and helped the Celtics win by the score of 115-114. Throughout the season, Tatum had great support from his teammates, as the whole team contributed massively to the win.
Jaylen Brown scored 23 points, while both Marcus Smart and Al Horford contributed with 20 points each, which were massive in the context of the game.
Tatum’s game-winning lay-up will be remembered for a long time, as this play showed why the Celtics have been so good throughout the season and are one of the favorites to win the Championship this season.
Even though it was just the first game of the series, the Celtics looked good. Notably, they were without their starting center Robert Williams who is sidelined due to a knee injury.
Notably, the duo of Tatum and Brown balled out, along with good contributions by other players also. Surprisingly, their defense could contain Kevin Durant, but Kyrie Irving had an excellent game.
This series is promising to be an all-time great series. The Nets will get Ben Simmons back around the 4th or 5th game of the series, which will be a massive addition. KD will look to bounce back in the game and ball out again, just like he has done throughout this season.
The Celtics, however, are looking solid, and they can win this series quite easily if they play the way they played in the 1st game. On the other hand, Brooklyn will look to get back into the winning ways until it gets too late for them to bounce back.
