Jayson Tatum has been a keen admirer of Robert Williams III whenever the big man steps on the floor for Boston Celtics. However, as the latter is taking things slow to keep up with a serious knee injury, Tatum went on to reveal the true feelings of perhaps the entire team on why they want Robert on the floor for more time.
Having played just 22 minutes on Saturday, the 6 ft 9 inches Celtics star registered 11 rebounds, 4 blocks, and 4 points in just 22 minutes of game-time. This is just why Jayson Tatum revealed how much he wants his teammate to step up on the floor, also citing how badly the Boston Celtics want to contest for the championship this season as well.
It is safe to say that Robert Williams III has had an impact on all of the games he has featured in. The mighty big man hasn’t started in an of the nine games he has entered.
Jayson Tatum on Robert Williams III
According to the current frontrunner of the 2023 MVP accolade, the Boston Celtics just want Timelord on the floor, no matter if it’s from off the bench or in the starting rotation.
“Whether he starts or comes off the bench I want him on the floor,” Tatum said. “I want him healthy and to be on the floor with him at the same time as much as possible.”
That being said, as badly as Jayson Tatum and the rest of Celtics players wanting their center on the floor Robert Williams III’s chances of starting likely won’t come to fruition yet, he’s certainly making a case to enter back into the top of the rotation sooner rather than later.
