Joel Embiid and James Harden led Philadelphia 76ers made Los Angeles Clippers feel their wrath. Despite leading by 20 points at halftime, the Eastern Conference side came raging back, courtesy to their two marquee players to win the game by a 5-point margin at home, in front of their fans.
What’s more impressive? The Los Angeles Clippers had both their leading stars – Kawi Leonard and Paul George present on the court for them. While Joel Embiid dropped 44 points, James Harden registered his career-best tally of 21 assists. With an impressive performance showcasing their chemistry being praised by analysts in and around the league, Embiid spoke about how he and Harden are forming a strong partnership.
“We just did what we’re supposed to do every single night, playing off each other,” Embiid said, via Paul Hudrick of SB Nation. “He (James Harden) makes my life easier and I sure hope I do the same for him. … Every single day I just think we’re getting better.”
Philadelphia 76ers are a solid team with Tyrese Maxey and Tobias Harris supporting the likes of Joel Embiid and James Harden. Given that this team has always struggled with one or the other player being sidelined due to injury in the playoffs, a healthy Harden could very well prove his worth by supporting Embiid this time around.
“Constant work, talk about it, communication, going out there and do it,” Harden reciprocated to Embiid’s feelings, as per ClutchPoints. “And then obviously, we want to see each other succeed.
“So, I ask him something or tell him something and vice versa, we do it. And we know that’s better for our team — him rolling or him in that pocket, us getting shots now and open up the game for our shooters.”
