Joel Embiid confused NBA Fans with a cryptic tweet seemingly about AFCON 2022
MVP frontrunner Joel Embiid put his fans into a frenzy after tweeting a cryptic picture of a toilet paper company. The tweet came in the aftermath of Cameroon’s exit from the AFCON 2022 tournament to Egypt.
Now, there are certain fans who believe that the tweet was meant for Ben Simmons. Simmons has made himself unavailable to play. The Australian apparently did not intend to play with his teammates despite being fit enough. The talented and unhappy former All-Star was excluded from practice and even suspended for a game.
Embiid has been the shining light for the 76ers in the absence of Simmons. Many fans have shown their anger and disappointment at Simmons. They believe that a trade for James Harden would be the best solution for all parties. The tagline ‘Ultra Soft’ could also have been a dig at Simmons for his poor attitude in the dressing room.
Coach Doc Rivers has been anything but a fan of Simmons’ attitude. The Australian is looking to leave the 76ers but has not found a replacement team. With only a few days until the trade deadline, the Kings believe the asking price for Simmons is too steep.
Will the 76ers succeed this season without Simmons?
Despite the absence of Simmons, the 76ers have a 31-20 record with a 60.8 winning percentage. With Tobias Harris and Matisse Thybulle stepping up this season they have been solid in their home runs. However, the franchise has also dropped many games despite putting up significant leads.
Embiid, who averages more than 29 points a game has been instrumental at both ends. Head coach Doc Rivers and the 76ers have benefited from the play of Joel Embiid. His efficient scoring and leadership have earned one of the league’s best records. Embiid’s 11.7 rebounds per game and 5.7 assists has helped others improve their numbers.
