Joel Embiid continues to impress as he dropped 45 points against the Indiana Pacers
The Philadelphia 76ers, led by Joel Embiid, went past the Indiana Pacers, strengthening their position for the upcoming playoffs. They will look to solidify themselves among the top seeds to gain an advantage in the playoffs.
Joel Embiid continued his push for the MVP Award as he dropped 45 points in a game that the 76ers dominated, but things got a little close in the end, which would have concerned a lot of Philadelphia fans.
Embiid recently slipped down a few spots in the MVP rankings, which caused an outburst towards the media. He claimed, “Media doesn’t love him & standards are set differently for players from Philadelphia.”
He was upset that he had such a great season so far, where he is the leading scorer in the league. However, he isn’t the favorite to win the MVP, and he showed the world what he is capable of with this performance against the Indiana Pacers, where he completely dominated the game.
The 76ers will be looking forward to the playoffs, as they want to make a run towards the championship this season, and they have all the necessary tools for achieving that.
Can the 76ers push for the Championship this season?
Since James Harden was traded to the 76ers, the expectations are high from the team to make a run towards the championship because the team as presently constructed is capable of beating any team in a 7-game series.
Joel Embiid has been playing well, but James Harden and Tobias Harris will need to step up and perform better if the 76ers want to win the championship because Embiid will do his job. Still, it will be up to the other players on how they will play to decide the fate of the 76ers.
The 76ers are in an excellent position to push for the championship as things currently stand. Still, they will have to be careful as any team could upset them, just like the Hawks eliminated them last season when they were the favorites to go to the ECF.
