Joel Embiid has stolen the show yet again after he threw a football in expert fashion ahead of a Philadelphia Eagles’ NFL game.
Joel Embiid is certainly one of the best players around in the NBA right now. The 27-year-old center had an incredible last season for the Philadelphia 76ers, as he topped the regular season points tally – becoming only the first center since Shaquille O’Neal to achieve the feat. Embiid has also stayed in the news this off season because of acquiring a new American citizenship.
The Cameroonian born center got a French citizenship only earlier this year and topped it off with a new American citizenship as the two countries are reportedly in war with each other over Embiid’s services. A man in universal demand, Embiid proved his stake on the headlines even further when he turned up in attendance for an NFL game – and somehow stole the show.
How did Embiid steal the show at the latest Philadelphia Eagles game?
The Sixers’ star and Philadelphia native took a short drive to the Lincoln Financial Field to be in attendance as the Philadelphia Eagles went up against the Dallas Cowboys.
The unbeaten Eagles were in a prime-time matchup with their hated rival, the Dallas Cowboys, and Embiid was on the field tossing the pigskin around on the sideline. He also met with Eagles centers Jason Kelce and Cam Jurgens, star wideout AJ Brown, and former Eagles star running back LeSean McCoy. He even met with the honorable First Lady Jill Biden on the sidelines.
In the viral clip posted by the official NFL Twitter account titled “can @JoelEmbiid take a few snaps tonight, @Eagles?! #FlyEaglesFly”, Embiid was seen throwing and catching the football with expertise. In fact, if one did not know who the towering center was – one could even mistake him for a professional football player with his throwing and catching technique.
The clip went viral amongst the fans of both Philly outfits, who appreciated Embiid’s dedication to support the other Philly side as well. While one fan commented “Is there anything he can’t do?!”, replies like “Jo was at the Phillies’ series clincher yesterday & now he’s at the Eagles’ game. Good to see him supporting the other Philly teams” were also prevalent in the replies.
