John Salley claims Michael Jordan was designed in the same way as Jesus Christ

Michael Jordan is perhaps the reason why NBA caught such worldwide hype in the 90s. Not only was he the idol of basketball players, but his persona, style, attitude and charisma were overwhelming for majority of the opponents he faced. One such player who witnessed the wrath of His Airness was John Salley, who hold nothing but respect for the 6-time NBA Champ.


While many claims Michael Jordan to be the GOAT, one of his most famous nicknames back in the day was ‘Black Jesus.’ Which was given to him majorly because of his dominance of the sport and NBA in general. Safe to say, Michael’s impact on the world of sports at large in terms of commercialization and player power was beyond description.

During in an interview with Vlad TV, John Salley compared Michael Jordan to Jesus Christ. Moreover, the former Pistons’ marquee player even deemed Jordan to become the Babe Ruth of basketball in the next 50 years.

Salley stated, “Jordan was designed, the same way Jesus has been designed. So, people sit around and talk about Jesus Christ from 2019 years ago…

“Muhammad Ali is the greatest of all time… The reason Michael Jordan is never going anywhere is because of Babe Ruth. Babe Ruth played in the 20s, or 30s, or 40s or whenever Babe Ruth played. And they still talking about Babe Ruth… That’s what Michael Jordan is going to be in 50 years. He’s going to be the Babe Ruth of basketball.”

That being said, if you’re confused at the comparison made by John Salley, it is largely due to the way he describes the events. In simpler terms its obviously berserk to compare Michael Jordan to Jesus Christ himself. However, John’s point of focus was that Jordan’s candidature for the GOAT conversation cannot be ignored.
