Towns’ sense of humour came into the spotlight after he started trending following his response to an Instagram influencer trying to test his patience. Infamous Instagram influencer Travque is famous for approaching celebrities at bars or pubs and putting a long list of drinks on their tabs – and is often hounded out – but Towns, to the internet’s surprise, reacted in a very unusual way.

When Travque approached Towns at a bar and asked the bartender to get “100 bottles of vodka, 50 bottles of champagne and 60 bottles of tequila” and put it on Towns’ tab – because “You know who this is? Karl-Anthony Towns, KAT!” – Towns was surprisingly calm. When Travque asked Towns if he got it, Towns asked him if he wants more – which surprised the influencer.
