Kawhi Leonard update: An NBA Insider has revealed that there is no return date for Los Angeles Clippers star as he recovers from his injury.
The Los Angeles Clippers edged past the Cleveland Cavaliers in their latest meeting at the Crypto.com Arena on Monday night. The contest went right down to the wire, and the Clippers put on a resilient performance to dig into the game despite a strong showing from the Cavaliers, as they won the game on the buzzer despite trailing the visitors by 10 in the last three minutes.
The Clippers ended an eight-game winning streak for the Cavaliers as they needed something special from the team to beat the hottest team in the league. And they had exactly that, as they put together a 17-1 run in the last five minutes that erased a 13-point deficit and made sure that when Paul George hit a game-winning three with seconds to go, they had bagged the win.
Not only was it a resilient showing from the Clippers under the circumstances, but it was also an empowering victory even in the absence of star players Kawhi Leonard and John Wall. The Clippers now know that they can indeed win against top opposition such as the Cavaliers without their main man–who has now been hit with yet another setback as he tries to return to action.
What is the recent setback that Kawhi Leonard has been hit with?
The Clippers has been hit with another setback, as it has been revealed that there is no expected date for Leonard’s return to action.
Leonard missed his eighth straight game for the Clippers in their 119-117 win over the Cavaliers, and NBA Insider Ohm Youngmisuk confirmed before the match that there is no time frame for Kawhi’s return after he re-injured his knee earlier this season.
“Right now, there is no time frame for Kawhi’s return. The biggest thing is that he has to go through a medical, and Ty (head coach Tyronn Lue) called that the slow progression of him doing better everyday. At that part, they are looking at it every day, but they are not looking at his return day to day.”
