Denver Nuggets have looked a championship-caliber team since the beginning of the 2022-23 NBA Season. The latest to face their wrath was Ty Lue’s Los Angeles Clippers, who were completely demolished till halftime as they took a lead of 34 points against a side that contained the likes of Kawhi Leonard and Paul George.
Although we have witnessed some of the most remarkable comebacks, one of which were the Raptors overcoming a 21-point lead against the Milwaukee Bucks in the last 3 minutes of the fourth quarter, Ty Lue was in no mood to take such risks as he decided to bench his starters and use his reserve players for the rest of the game.
This though didn’t sit well with marquee scorer – Kawhi Leonard, who felt that his coach didn’t give them a chance of potentially making a comeback.

“I mean, obviously nobody wants to lose by that amount of points,” Leonard said. “You want to get it back, pretty much. You want to get back out there on the floor and do what you can to either get a win or even the same night, rather than sit and watch. Just coming from me.”
In simpler words, Kawhi Leonard had no problems with losing the contest but wanted to at least fight until the very end. Moreover, the 2019 NBA Champ also wasn’t in favor of setting his sight on the next game even before the end of the current one.
“I feel like these are the times where we need to be in there and dig ourselves out those holes and learn what we’re doing, instead of flipping the page and going to the next game,” Leonard concluded. “But yeah, that’s just from my perspective.”
