Stephen Curry didn’t convert a single three-pointer in game 5 against the Boston Celtics, but he is confident about himself.
Stephen Curry has been sensational throughout the NBA finals against the Boston Celtics. He is the leading candidate to win the Finals MVP this season, and he certainly deserves it.
The Golden State Warriors won the 5th game of the series and went 3-2 up on the Celtics. Surprisingly, Curry didn’t have a good game in his team’s win. He failed to score a single three-pointer, and it was the first time since 2018 that it happened.
Everyone was shocked by Steph’s performance, but Curry isn’t bothered. He is still fully focused on what’s ahead and is quite confident about himself for the rest of the games.
Talking about how he will approach game 6, Curry said, “Keep shooting. Very simple. Like there’s never — I’m not afraid to go 0-for-whatever because I’m going to keep shooting and taking shots that you normally feel like you can make. And I’ve responded well when I’ve had games like that from the 3-point line.”
He added, “But I’ve never — I don’t think I’ve ever been happier after a 0-for-whatever type of night, just knowing the context of the game, the other ways you tried to impact the game and the fact that you had four guys step up in meaningful ways to help us win offensively.”
Klay Thompson heaped praises on Stephen Curry
Klay Thompson’s return has been very fruitful for the Warriors. They are once again on the brink of adding another championship. Thompson once again heaped praises on his splash brother Curry.
He said, “The man is a magician with the ball in his hands. He just redefined what the point guard position is capable of … he really is a transcendent talent that we’ll never see again.”
The Warriors now have a great chance of closing out the Celtics in game 6 at their own home court. It won’t be easy, but Curry and Thompson can certainly take over the game and deliver another championship to the franchise.
